We are Zaether – Meet Tim Adkins

Lesson #1 of saltwater fishing: The fish have teeth. You don’t want to learn that the hard way (Tim did!).
Lesson #1 of digital transformation: The wrong system will bite you. Hard. (Tim knows that too!)

My name is Tim Adkins and my favorite food is pizza.

Been married my wife 42 years and like hanging out with her doing stuff. She’s kind of my buddy. We do lots of things together, go to nice restaurants or we could take walks, go fishing. So those are kind of some of my favorite things.

Well, live in Florida now, so saltwater fishing, which is kind of unique for me. I used to do freshwater fishing back in Indiana, and now saltwater’s a little different. You’ve got much different fish and they all have teeth. So, something to pay attention to that I didn’t have to worry about before.

I worked for probably a couple years now with Zaether, but prior to that I have a lot of experience with life sciences, nearly 30 years with that. The vast majority of that was being a customer and as a customer, you know, I dealt with lots of the same things that our customers deal with today. It worked with various digital solutions where, you know, poorly designed in some cases where I had impacted by those and then also dealing with vendors that, you know, they didn’t always meet my expectations.

So, a lot of the challenges that that you work with today, I work with many times in the past and have walked more than a mile in in your shoes.

So, I lead a team of, you know, consultants, advisors today that work on the operational aspects for manufacturing for life sciences, specifically dealing with digital solutions, but with that also the people and the technology and the process that go along with that, right? O coming U with solutions that work best for our customers. And that’s, instead of trying to come in with a solution in mind, you know, we come in and really ask specifically and try to dig into what are the requirements the customer has and, and deal with that more at an outcome base perspective. So think about it, what, what do you want this to look like at the end? And then we start to work on a solution once we understand really what the needs are.

We’re basically a service provider.

We don’t have service, we don’t have products that we’re selling. So what we do is want to make sure that we’re helping you choose the right vendor, the right products and then help you orchestrate that and get that completed. But that can it doesn’t include just the technology side. We also want to make sure we’re looking at the resources required, that those are resources that maybe you don’t have right now and you need extra help or we need to help you educate what you know that you do need additional resources and to help you get those hired and, and, and go through that process as well.

And obviously there’s process change with any new solution, digital solution, there’s going to be process changes required as well. And so, we work with you on all of that aspects to make sure that that you have a fully integrated solution using organizational change management to ensure good adoption as we go.
